I am a media artist based in Buffalo, NY and have been making films, videos, and installation work that explore personal spaces and the built environment since the 90s. My practice examines ideas of perception, memory, and the spatialization of time using simple formal means and sometimes optical tricks. Through my work, I investigate distance and intimacy and the precarity of images on our screens and in our heads. Iā€™m interested in ways of representing not simply memory in space, but the act of remembering and perceiving. My media material often comes from the personal and everyday ā€“ small details and Inconsequential moments that make up most of my time. I adhere to the notion that close observation of the mundane can often reveal something profound.
